The virus causing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a new strain first identified in China. Health experts continue to learn more about this new strain.
The virus has symptoms associated with respiratory illnesses, including fever, cough and shortness of breath. It seems to spread like other respiratory illnesses as well, primarily through person-to-person contact.
Preventing Coronavirus
Practising good hand and sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence against most viruses.
Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, before and after eating, and after going to the bathroom
Cover your cough and sneeze, dispose of tissues, and use alcohol-based hand sanitiser
If unwell, avoid contact with others (touching, kissing, hugging, and other intimate contact
